The Bridal Cottage Blog

I have ardently planned for the last several weeks for the upcoming Bridal Show.  Anticipating everything that should go wrong and being a doomsday planner, was my specialty! I had flow charts, highlighters, outlines, etc.  Many times the anticipation of something awful is worse than the actual event!  Being a promotion person for a radio station in my past life allowed me to dream big, so I decided to tell my staff we were going to build a wedding cake and place a bride and groom on top.  This was not the first time they thought I was nuts!

In the wedding biz, everyday brides come in telling us of their dreams.   Our joy is helping turn their dreams into realities!  Brides come in with pictures, pinterest posts, magazines, and other ideas to share their vision with us.  From this information, we pull dresses for their day to make their bridal style come together!  Sometimes their vision does not always make sense in the beginning, but finally, it all comes together and it is beautiful!  The bride and the consultant are a great team, making dreams realities!

This week, my staff has been very supportive of my dreams for our first Bridal Show!  I have had lofty goals and they are meeting every one.  These people are allowing me to keep my responsibilities.  Joseph Campbell said, “Dreams come a size too big so that we can grow into them.”  If that is the case, our dreams are the size of War Memorial Stadium!
