Well…it’s finally here! The day of my Grand Re-Opening of The Bridal Cottage. I can’t believe it was just 8 months ago when I purchased MY wedding dress from The Bridal Cottage! It’s a special story, that little did I know, would change my life….
At 38 years old, getting married for the first time, I had never really thought about what I would wear on my wedding day. My husband proposed to me in March and we set the wedding for October and by June, I still hadn’t even looked at wedding dresses! I wasn’t too concerned about it, I thought I had enough time, but it wasn’t until my Maid of Honor called and pretty much told me SHE was planning a weekend for me to look for wedding dresses…that I was running out of time!
So in July, we loaded up my mom, my fiancé’s mother, sister and my closest friends, and we set out to find my dress. I was really excited, but again, I wasn’t worried about anything, because I knew my dress would find me. And it did.
At the second store, the 8th dress…I had found the dress, or really the dress found me, at The Bridal Cottage. The owner at the time, Vikki, listened to me and brought me the perfect dress.
And yes, I had the special moment. The moment that every bride dreams about…where I was surrounded by loved ones, where I felt just absolutely beautiful, that moment that I knew I would take Erin’s breath away when I walked down the aisle, the moment I finally felt like a bride.
Friends tease me that I enjoyed the wedding experience so much that I just went out and bought the store! And well, I guess it kinda happened like that.
I am honored to be a part of The Bridal Cottage history. For over 32 years, The Bridal Cottage has been a signature business in the heart of the Park Hill historic district in NLR. I have learned under the best, Vikki Farrer who was taught by the ultimate best original owner, Una George. I hope I can carry on the tradition of The Bridal Cottage, providing brides with the latest wedding fashions, and excellent customer service.
And most of all, I want to give all brides their special moment, just like I had.
